All students in DECC receive access to Energy Terminal, a valuable resource that supports students in entering the energy industry. Note this list of energy podcasts, newsletters and job boards, details about energy verticals, recruitment preparation materials, and more!
The Emerging Leaders Program brings together a cohort of similarly passionate students from different schools / geographies, and provides exposure to top companies and speakers in the energy space.
College to Climate is another resource that aims to empower the next generation of climate professionals. The resource offers live career workshops, a climate career fair, list of climate jobboards, and a comprehensive community. Be sure to join the slack channel for more information.
Greenbridge Infrastructure is a resource that helps students break into renewable energy finance careers. It contains interview prep materials (including resume and cover letter support), financial modeling tools, and mock cases to prepare students for technical assessments. It also has an active job / internship board. **While Greenbridge Infrastructure has some free resources, the complete guide requires a paid subscription.
Duke Resources
The Stanback Fellowship is a partnership between the Nicholas School of the Environment and non-profit environment organizations. The Fellowship connects students to internships in the sustainability space. Students are provided with a stipend and must enroll in the Stanback Fellowship summer course. Join the Stanback Fellowship mailing list and refer to Handshake for posted positions. More information can be found in the Stanback resources folder.
Undergraduate students can take advantage of Duke’s Nicholas School Career Center. Later in the year, the career center posts internship and job opportunities in climate, environmental, and energy careers. Additionally, the career center hosts networking events, Internship Week (mid-late October) and other opportunities. Check back for link.
